
Dave Lyons
Executive Director
Dave has been a longtime resident of Huntsville and has been with the CFM since 2013. As a lifelong educator, former camp leader and most recently as a Healthy Active Living Consultant, Dave is a strong advocate for ensuring all kids have access and opportunity to be active, involved and outside. Dave is also a woodworker and carpenter, dog lover, and outdoor enthusiast.

Patti Lyons
Fund Development Manager
Patti was born and raised in Gravenhurst and is a retired educator from TLDSB. Before teaching, Patti was a financial researcher in Toronto. She has lived in Huntsville for over 30 years. She enjoys outdoor recreation, travelling, and her local gym.

Darlene Morin
Administrative Assistant
Darlene was an Educational Assistant with the S.M.C.D.S.B. and is a resident of Port Sydney. She has been with CFM since mid-2009. In her free time, she loves being with her two adult children and her two dogs, enjoys various crafts and helping others. The Board is appreciative of the great work she has done in keeping the office running…and in particular her amazing butter tarts!

Casey Jacob
Chair
5 year on the board, 2 years as ED
Raised in Huntsville, Casey retired back to Muskoka in 2019 after a long career in York Region working for the Ministry of Education and Upper Canada Child Care Centres. Casey is a passionate advocate for all children and a strong believer that no child should be left behind due to financial barriers. Casey enjoys music, cooking, fitness and reading and is the proud mom of two adult children.

Mark Janke
Vice Chair
Mark was born in Huntsville and now lives in Bracebridge with his wife and two kids. He has been an educator at TLDSB for the past 17 years. He enjoys time listening to music, cheering on the Raptors, making maple syrup and doing all things tech for the CFM.

Dan Gardiner
Treasurer
Dan first came to Muskoka for 1 year, back in 1998. Having sat on the board of various local endeavours, kids’ sports organizations and service clubs, Dan has a long history of community involvement. Dan joined the Muskoka Children’s Foundation to help ensure all kids in Muskoka have opportunities for success and enjoyment. Dan lives in Huntsville with his wife Stacy, their children Makaila, Ben & Ashley, pets and an ever increasing amount of local wildlife looking for handouts.

Myke Malone
Board Member
Myke, was born and raised in Ottawa, but has made Huntsville his home for the past 40 years.
Myke comes with years of experience on many community boards and is an avid
community volunteer.
Myke enjoyed a varied career, in the restaurant business, fitness industry and in Sport Event
management. While he claims to be retired now, he still utilizes his sport event management
skills running several charity events, and instructs fitness classes and Personal Training at FITT
Gym.
Myke enjoys traveling with his wife Cheryl, spending time with his 3 grandchildren, mountain
biking and skiing.

Val Newlands
Board Member
Val grew up in Minett and now lives in Port Carling with her husband Geordie and their two boys. Val and Geordie run SWS Boatworks and Summer Water Sports, operating a marina, waterski schools and putting on waterski shows throughout Muskoka. She has a passion for sharing her love of outdoor activities, both summer and winter, with others in Muskoka, especially kids.

Derek Schofield
Board Member
Derek was born and raised in Gravenhurst and is currently a Special Education Resource teacher at Muskoka Beechgrove Public School. He owns and operates Muskoka Summer Hockey School and enjoys music, sports and the outdoors, but mostly just the outdoors during the summer months :)

Dave Golden
Board Member
Dave Golden is a dedicated educator and community advocate with deep roots in Muskoka. After beginning his career in education in Mississauga, he returned to Muskoka to raise his family. Over 32 years, Dave served as a teacher and administrator in the Peel region, and later as Vice Principal and Principal at Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School. Dave held the position of Superintendent responsible for Safe and Caring Schools and Mental Health, which included overseeing Indigenous education initiatives. In these roles, he gained firsthand insight into the challenges faced by families and children in the Muskoka area.
Dave joined the Board of the CFM, an organization committed to supporting children in becoming active, healthy, and inclusive members of the community.
