3 January 2024Hello everyone!
We hope this message finds you well, and enjoying the lead-up to the holiday season. There is lots of exciting news to share. Here’s the summary!
We are so pleased to announce a new partnership and fund to the Children’s Foundation family – The ‘Mike Brown Fund for Youth in Sport’ (also known as ‘The Next Goal Wins Fund). Mike was a well-known Huntsville citizen who was heavily involved and influenced by sport and by those who helped guide him. In the words of Jessica Brown, “The Mike Brown Fund for Youth in Sport, in conjunction with the CFM, will carry out Mike’s love of sports and will support youth in the community that raised him. Mike would be very humbled by the CFM partnership and to know his legacy can continue by helping children in our hometown.”
We are very honoured to carry out this work on behalf of Mike and Jessica and their family.
The next big piece of news is that the CFM Gala is returning in 2024! A big thanks to Windermere House who have joined us to co-host the event on Saturday, November 16th, 2024. Tickets go on sale in the new year. Make a weekend of it and join us for the CFM’s 20th annual gala and largest fundraiser of the year!
Finally, we have begun our 6th year of running the Toni Lynn Rizzuto Campership Fund. Our hope is to expand on the over 100 kids who attended both residential and day camps in Muskoka in 2023. See our website for more details.
Thanks to you all for helping make this another great year of supporting local kids who need us most. Here’s a summary of our work in 2023:
- 403 children served in all 6 ‘Pillars of Support’
- $182,501.23 provided in funding to support grants
- Grants provided for the following opportunities:
On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors of the CFM, we wish you all a very joyous holiday season and a peaceful and healthy 2024.
Dave.
